Style - Sunday Scribblings

Style
Style is the attempt
 to dress yourself
and fix your hair
in a way that says
I am not back there
in the past
where I came from
But I'm here and now
ready for fun
The problem is
that your style today
will be the joke
of those years away
Remember when making
the effort
to stay "in tune"
those lovely white shoes
on the "stylish" Pat Boone.

I think we should stick to something as neutral as possible in order not to be ridiculed in decades to come...

Fashion does have a habit of going full circle. Kids here today are wearing clothes very similar to the ones I wore in the 60's!

Those shoes were quite the style, weren't they? A fun poem!

I have overflowing closets, not because I am a big spender on clothing but that I never throw anything away. I know that I will always be able to find something that is in style again. Pat Boone will be back!

girl you are so spot on... just look at a high school yearbook and it becomes evident that style is synonymous with silly.......

I like this post. It is true that our fashions of today will be tomorrows laughter. It is also somewhat safe to say that most of the styles do repeat so maybe we won't create too big of a laugh.

Oh, goodness! That's very clever, and what a great way to bring Pat Boone into things!
