Tony and Maria's somewhere is quite possibly here and now. I am very happy to live in a much more diverse time and place where my multi-cultural children (my husband is hispanic/filipino and I am caucasian) are not subjected to the injustices that they might have faced just a few decades ago. I live in a beautiful, diverse community with many races and cultures represented. I live in a time where it is possible for an African-American to run for President and a strong, beautiful mother of five to run for Vice President! I think I just may live "Somewhere!"

Thank you for the video! It's one of my favorites, too, but I haven't seen it in years.
I love West side story too and old musicals. West side story is so powerful and after reading a few other peoples prompts this week so is the fact that there is change that has developed over the last few decades for acceptance of multiculturalism. You are so right.
Love it! Love you! Mom
very well said, it is crazy to think not that long ago how racist this whole country was and it was acceptable. It boggles my mind!
I like your somewhere. :-)
I like this a lot!
trying to find a meaning
I think West Side Story is a fantastic musical. It's been one of my favourites all of my life. Watching it nowadays is like taking a step back to another era - which we are - but it's an era when things were simple and life was more enjoyable.
Nothing to do with Somewhere, but I saw your picture of a butterfly on your page. So I decided to upload some that I had taken. Check it out! The butterfly was beautiful.
I love musicals, but I have never seen that one. Sound of Music and Fiddler on the Roof are two of my favorite musicals.
