R.E.M. - The Trip

"Pass the sunscreen Marge, I'm getting a little pink"

Here's a copy of an email Lori sent out to her email list:  It pretty much sums up the trip to see R.E.M.  It was the best concert and we had a great time.  The only thing I would add to Lori's words below about my only complaints: - Porta Potties with no toilet paper (thankfully I had napkins in my purse) or hand sanitizer/sinks for a crowd of tens of thousands. Also keep in mind that the sunbathing deer were in the back of a pick up truck with a sign that read "wildlife removal".

"Ok, so my friend Vicki and I went to the REM concert Wednesday night in

Columbia Maryland.  It was awesome! I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing

about how excited we were to go!! But bear with me this one last time.  You

see, Vicki and I are huge REM fans, we started listening to them when we got

our drivers license at age 16 (19 years ago!) and we listened to the

"cassette tape" constantly, we never "packed" REM away, they will always be

on our playlists and we've remained fans ever since. So this was the concert

we've been waiting for, for more than half our lives.

So I was debating on whether to bring my brand new camera to the venue to

capture this experience on film to keep forever. After talking to Lenny we

decided not to take the chance and have my camera confiscated at the gate,

so I left it at my in laws house.

The concert was exactly what I expected. One of, if not the best one I've

been to. The only complaints I have is that God gave me (and Vicki) short

legs, and not having my camera! Vicki's biggest complaint probably would

have been when Michael Stipe had to voice his political views, but we all

knew that was coming.

So, the only images I got to remember this fantastic trip by are the ones

you see here!! Sitting in traffic on our way home we come across a couple of

dead deer sunbathing on beach towels in the bed of this truck.  And I kid

you not, 30 seconds later we find another dead deer sunbathing on the side

of the road!! So there you have it.

Oh, and by the way, every other person at the concert had a camera!!

Lori"

This looks GREAT!!! I used to see REM quite a bit when I lived in Atlanta. You always knew when you saw them, you'd get hit with Michael's views but that seemed a bit of a small price for me to pay to see them LIVE!

May I help you?
